Enrichment Classes

Drug/Alcohol - Upland

Classes take place on Wednesday and Friday each week; and are designed to help adolescents avoid/stop drug use; understand the consequences of using drugs; and to establish norms against drug use. Participants learn the benefits of being drug free; to resist internal and social pressures to use; to recognize alternatives to substance abuse; how to quit using; and how to communicate with their parents.

Anger Management - Upland

Classes take place on Tuesday and Friday each week; and are designed to help adolescents address and alleviate anger and other negative emotions; develop awareness of emotions; develop coping skills for dealing with negative emotions; identify triggers, anger cycles and usual choices of response; develop successful tools to deal with anger and choose healthy responses; develop insight and problem-solving skills; and broaden perspectives related to anger and other negative emotions.
