Dave Oshan, BA
Chef started in the restaurant business as a dishwasher in 1985 at a little café his sister owned and quickly decided he wanted a career as a chef. Coming up through the ranks in the themed restaurant circle as a line cook, supervisor, sous chef, chef de cuisine and finally attending culinary school to obtain a BA in restaurant management and Executive Chef credentials in 1995. He worked the Las Vegas strip properties from 1992 through 2006 as executive sous chef and Executive chef positions. Moving to the Finger Lakes region of upstate N.Y in 2006 he found himself running an upscale jazz bar/restaurant as the working G.M and Executive chef until 2010. As the west coast was calling on him to return to California to make a name for himself in the culinary community. He spearheaded a family friend’s theme restaurant in Colton California and opened the doors to The Red Hot Café in November of 2010. Looking for something a little out of the box he took on a chef de cuisine position at the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club in Lake Arrowhead, California and one year later was recruited by Pali Mountain Camp in Running Springs, California as the Executive Chef. Finding his rhythm again on the west coast, came in 2016 when he joined the awesome team at Inland Valley Recovery Services as Food Service Manager/Executive Chef. He has a flare for big bold flavors as in southwestern and coastal Mexican cuisine. He has followed Chef Bobby Flay’s style and techniques over the years and likes to think of himself as a seasoned chef with a passion for great food with his own take on bold flavors. He loves serving our clients here at IVRS and loves to create tasty dishes for them that come from the heart. He also likes to surprise our clients on a daily basis with off menu delicacies and flavors they’ve most likely never tried.
